Lacy Sweater

Given the cold spring, light sweaters have been required.  I have wanted to knit this sweater for years, but finding the right yarn has been difficult.  In the end I went with Artesano Alpaca Silk Lace which is a total delight to knit with, soft and silky.  The original sweater was shorter, but I wanted more of a tunic length so I lengthened it.  It took just under 3 skeins - around 1100 metres.
It's a fairly simple knit with a short lace pattern at bottom and top.  The sleeve construction is unusual, with stitches cast on either side of the body to form the sleeves, and then seamed at the top. It does allow the lace to run uninterrupted across the chest and sleeves.
A nice knit, pattern by Anniken Allis from the Ultimate Knitting Stylebook which was published a few years ago.
